NEW FISH DEPOT
MORE SANITARY AND SUITABLE
A new fish depot from which the Dunedin fishmongers will draw their supplies will be opened for business on Monday. The question of a fish depot, which has been a burning one here for some considerable time, will enter a new phase on Monday, when the wholesale market for fish will be opened _in a compact and sufficiently large building built by the City Corporation and erected at the side of the railway line at the junction of Frederick street with the Highway. From Monday the fish coming by rail will be sent to the new depot, and the old delapidated depot in the railway yard will be closed. It is quite a forward movement _in the fish business, as the now premise® are much more sanitary and more suitable than the old building. The railway siding alongside the new building was pub down by the Railway Department at the cost of the City Corporation. The building, which was also erected at the cost of the Corporation, will be rented by the wholesale fish dealers, who will there conduct their auction sales of fish.
