CASE AGAINST BOROUGH CLERK DISMISSED fPjju Exited Press Association.] AUCKLAND, July 25. Joseph James Ritchie, aged 54, was charged in the Police Court with the theft of £34, as town clerk, from the Waihi Borough Council. Chief-detective Cummings stated that Ritchie had been in hospital for some months very ill. He would not offer any evidence to support the charge. Mr M‘Kean, S.M., dismissed the pharge for want of prosecution.
