Loyal Prince of Wales meeting was well attended, the N.G., Bro. Nelson, presiding. The Social Committee submitted a syllabus for next year’s handbook, which was approved. Two members were initiated and four proposals for membership were received. Tho permanent secretary, Bro. Johnston, and P.G. Campbell wore elected to the Dispensary Board. Owing to the largo amount of business requiring attention, the half-yearly balance-sheet was held over till next meeting. It was decided to enter for the efficiency shield competition. After the meeting closed, a dance was hold, the proceeds of which aro to he devoted to the children’s Christmas tree fund. Bros. Wilson and Jarvio provided the music. The visitors’ toast was responded to by Loyal Albion and Kaitangata. There was a fair attendance at tho meeting of Loyal Cavcrshani, N.G. Bro. Wallace in tho chair. The principal business was the reception and adoption of the half-yearly balancesheet. In moving the adoption of this, P.G. Swinnoy referred to tho very sound financial standing of tho lodge. P.G. List seconded the adoption of the balance-sheet, which was carried without much discussion. P.G. Bro Ronfree, who recently retired from the position of permanent secretary after forty-four years of office, thanked members for their loyal co-operution and support during his long term as secretary, and presented to the lodge an enlarged photograph of himself. P.P.G.M Bro. Lawry and P.P.G.M. Bro. Briggs paid tribute to tho sterling services of Bro. Eenfree. During tho evening one candidate was initiated into the ordero. A card shield match was played with Loyal Albion, the latter proving victorious by three games. Arrangements wore completed for a dance next lodge night. Tho fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Prince of Wales Juveniles attracted a good attendance of juveniles and adult Management Committee, presided over by N.G. Bro. R. Brown. Ordinary business was dealt with, including tho initiation of one candidate, after which the boys took part in a debate. The subjects-were: ‘Horse or Motor’ and ‘Steamship or Airship.’ An enjoyable evening was spent, most of the lads proving keen debaters. _ with a fair knowledge of tho various subjects under discussion. At the meeting of Loyal Albion on Thursday evening, there was a largo attendance of brethren and visiting members. Tire lodge was in mourning for the late Bro. M. J. Murphy, members standing in silence as a tribute to his memory. Tho Iwlf-yeariy balance-sheet, which disclosed the lodge to have_ made substantial progress financially and numerically, was read and adopted. The P.G.M., Bro. Stahb, reviewed tho various items. Suggestions for the official handbook were received, P.G. T. White to submit these to a meeting of the Handbook Committee. It was decided to insert tho photographs of P:G. Calvert, P.G. G. Davie, and Bro. Booker in the handbook, tho two latter having completed fifty years’ membership in the order. Five new members were initiated and four propositions for mt mbership received A membo/ was also received by clearance. Tho visitors’ toast was responded to by Loyal Dunedin and Milton Lodges.
