The ‘ Evening News ’ quotes a letter from Jock Richardson (rice-captain of the 1924 All Blacks) saying that the standard of New-Zealand Rugby has fallen a bit during tho last year or two, because Munro, Parker, Porter, Masters, and others have dropped out. A DOUBLE WIN Tho annual fixtures between the first and second fifteens of the Waitaki and Christchurch Boys’ High Schools were played at Oamaru yesterday, and resulted in a double victory for Waitaki. For tho first fifteen Hunter (Waitaki) drew first blood, scoring between the posts. Francis converted. Mortlook next scored. Vincent converting, thus equalising tho score. Mackenzie made a good.run to the line, and Wayne, being handy, dived over. On resuming Gregg eluded the opposition to score, and again both teams were equal. Waitaki rallied after several fruitless efforts, and Hunter raced over amidst great excitement, giving victory to Waitaki by JI points to 8. The Waitaki second fifteen won by 9 points to 6. THE. ORDERING OFF INCIDENT At a meeting of the North Otago Referees’ Association the following resolution was carried“ That this association takes strong exception to the action of the Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa Unions in failing to support the referee, Mr M’Kenzie, in the action lie took against two players in the recent Ranfurly Shield match.”
