APPOINTMENT REFUSED. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 21. Sir Campbell Stuart has declined the chairmanship of the Pacific Cable Board, but will remain a member of it. The ‘Daily News’ says that Sir Campbell Stuart refused the appointment on the ground that other activities will take up all his time, but it null f.B remembered that he, with Ills Canadian colleague, opposed the duplication of the Pacific Cable, urging a wirfcless system instead.
