ONLY ONCE A YEAR FAMOUS RESTAURANT CLOSED. LONDON; July 5. Borchardt’s, once Berlin’s most famous restaurant, which catered for the Kaiser’s banquets, and was patronised by European courts and diplomatic corps, has become bankrupt after a long period of financial difficulties, says the Berlin . correspondent of ‘ The Times.’ The restaurant, whose menu included kangaroo tail soup, was always financially embarrassed, because the proprietor was allowed to present accounts to distinguished patrons'only once a year. Their impoverishment, since the revolution, has completed his ruin.
