BOWLING
ANDERSON’S BAY CLUB. The animal meeting of the above club was held last evening. At the meeting of shareholders Mr J. E. Wheeler presided, and, in moving the adoption of the report, said that the bifnk balance had increased from £24 11s‘to £sl, in spite of the cost of improvements made tp the pavilion, costing £37. Subscriptions had increased by £B, and the ladies’ contributions by £9. The upkeep of the green and other expenses had decreased by £2O, and the result of the season’s operations had been the reduction of the debit in the general profit and loss account to £8 3s 4d. The drainage of the ground had been completed, but the cost had not yet been assessed. Tho report was adopted. A vote of thanks 'was passed to Mr G. Pearce for his services as secretary. Messrs R.. H. Ledlie, H. Renfree, jun., and A. J. Gall were elected directors,, and Mr J J. Road auditor. At the meeting of club members which followed. Mr Wheeler said that the past season, from the players' point of view, could be regarded as successful. The club had done very well in the Saturday games, finishing up iu fifth place. The membership was forty-nine active and fifteen honorary. In view of the population of the district the membership should he much larger. Thanks were due to Mr J. Kain, the greenkeeper, and to tho ladies for their assistance. They had organised a series of card; evenings, which had been successful and i were a valuable source of income. The ladies’ club had enjoyed a very success- 1 ful season, and had played with marked success in the intorclnb games. He' moved the adoption of the report, which ; was carried! I The following officers were elected for ! the ensuing year :--President. Mr R. : H. Ledlie: Wee-president, Mr W. Weth-l erburn; secretary, Mr J. Mooney: selector, Mr W. Wetherburn; Match Committee—Messrs A. T. Robertson, W. L Harrison, R. Brain, and V. Bendall; Management Committee—Messrs W. Bennett and F. Pcrrett; delegate to Otago Bowling Centro. Mr R. H. Ledlie: green supervisor, ,Mr F. Parrott. It was decided that tbo ladies’ section, of the club should attend to all arrangements for social functions. Tt was resolved that the annual subscription he the same as last year. It was decided to enter for the fourrink championship, for tho Acless Shield, and to play nine rinks in the interclnb games next season; the club tics to be the same as last year. Tbo new president distributed the prizes won last season.
