The decrease is attributed to lower cotton prices, smaller returns on feed, grains, apples, and potatoes. The net income of the farmers is estimated at 2,440,000,000d0l after deducting expenses, compared with 3,082,000,000 in 192(3. The production, expenses increased only 2 per ■ cent., while the not income decreased about 20 per cent.
