EVERYBODY'S AND KING EDWARD

There is nothing particularly amusing about a double-barrelled shotgun in itself, vet this weapon plays an important nart in the drollery of Charlie Chaplin's comedy-drama, ‘The Gold Rush.’ at Everybody's and King Edward Theatres. The efforts of Charlie in the role of the Lone Prospector to keen awav from the muzzle when Black Larsen, played hy Tom Murray, and Big Jim M‘Kay, portrayed by Mack Swain, arc engaged in deadly combat, is regarded by many as one of the funniest scenes of the picture. The shotgun again plays an important part when the Lone Prospector aiid-M’Kay are storm-bound in a cabin, and the latter, maddened by'hunger, seeks to slay his companion. Clairo Windsor and William Haines play the leading roles in ‘ A Little Journey,’ the supporting picture at Everybody’s. The stars are supported hy a cast of popular players. A desperate duel with bull whips, in which, stripped to the waist, Antonio Moreno and Roy D’Arey slashed at each other with long rawhide lashes, after tho fashion of South ..American plainsmen, is one of the thrills of ‘The Temptress,’ filmed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayor from the famous Ibanez novel, which will be shown at Everybody’s Theatre to-morrow. Greta Garbo and Antonio Moreno head a famous cast in the spectacle, directed at the Motro-Goidwyn-Mayer studios hy Fred Niblo, as his first production since ‘ Ben-Llur.’ ‘ Blonde or Brunette,’ featuring Greta Xisscn and Arletto Marchal,, will also be shown.
