OTAGO CLEM. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of mem hers of the Otago Bowling Club, held last night. The president (Mr C. R.jSmifli) was in the chair. The Chairman, after having referred to the loss the club had sustained by the death of Messrs J. Cooke, ('. Eymnnre, H. F. Bastings, and Captain Sinidstnim. moved the adoption of the report and balance-sheet. Ho congratulated the chib on securing the services of Mr J. A. APKinnon ns secretary, after Mr E. Falconer had been compelled to relinquish the office on account of illhealfb. He said that the position in regard to the AVinfer Club was not satisfactory, members giving poor support to the entertainments, arranged by the committee. The green bad been in excellent order last season, and promised to play still better during the coming term. In this respect the club was indebted to Mr D. Rose. The position ns regarded finance showed little difference from last year. There were still a number of players who bad not taken up shares, and the committee thought that members should give consideration to this important question. A profit of £26 bad boon made on the past season’s operations. The membership last year bad been reduced somewhat, and it was important that new members should be obtained in order to keep up the financial side of the club.

The motion was carried. Mr J. L. Snlraoncl referred to the excellent services rendered by Mr C. R. Smith, the retiring president. The following were elected as officebearers for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr C. Speight; president, Mr J. L. Salmond; vice-president, Air AA 7 . F. Sligo; secretary, Mr J. A. APKinnon; directors—Messrs J. Henderson, E. Cameron, R. J. AA'atts. H. Cook. D. Rose, and E.' Falconer; selector, Air E. Falconer; green supervisors. Messrs C. R. Smith and D. Rose; auditor, Air P. AA 7 , Stabb; Social Committee—Messrs. H. Cook, TV. F. Sligo, A. Young. A. Walker, N. Peacock, AA 7 . H. Telford, and A. Ellison; delegates to the Dunedin Bowling Centre—Messrs E. Falconer, C. R. Smith, and J. A. APKinnon. It was resolved that the number of rinks to be entered for the Saturday matches be decided by the cotnmittee. It was .decided to enter for the Adess Shield and the four-rink competitions. The meeting instructed the club’s delegates to tbe centre to support the proposal of the Caversham Club to increase the number of interchib games during the coming season.
