If my achievements are to be so easily discredited I shoujd bo glad to burn my secret and return to the Bar, for wliich I am fully qualified, and lead, for the first time in fifteen years, a life owninig an ordinary man’s share of the sunshine.” The ‘ Daily Express’ editorially refers to the statement as a threat, adding: “If M. Spahlinger has discovered a method of defeating the scourge, then, however tired and discouraged, it is both his duty and his privilege to give it to the world.”
