Tlic Assembly met again for business, which consisted in answering a host of questions and clearing the way for the reintroductiou of a number of Bills loft over from the previous session. These are of purely local interest. Mr Bavin announced that the Opposition would not grant pairs to two Ministers who proposed to visit England. This places the Government in a quandary, and will probably mean that the'visits will be deterred till tho recess. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL’S PROTEST. SYDNEY, January 12. (Received January 12, at 10.35 a.m.) The Legislative Council received a Message from the Governor acknowledging receipt of the Council’s protest against holding the present session, stating that it would receive his earnest consideration. APPROPRIATION BILL PASSED.
SYDNEY, January 11. (Received January 12, at 1.30.a.m.) The Legislative Council passed the Appropriation Bill in all its stages.
