WELLINGTON PRICES MAINTAINED [Pbb United Phess Association.] NAPIER, November 19. A bench of" sixty-two buyers faced the auctioneer at this morning’s sale. Bidding_ at the start was not brisk, but consistent, and competition was solid. Prices on the whole coincided with Wellington. The Continental demand was' more prominent, with Bradford in the running, but not to a marked extent. Little was heard from America, and Japan was silent. From the first catalogue of 3,474 bales, ninety-four lots were passed in. Prices ranged as follows:—Coarse cross-breds, up to 15|d; fine super., from 13d to average fine cross-breds, 13d; inferior, from 9d to lid; medium, from 12d to 14d; coarse cross-bred super., up to 12d; coarse low cross-bred, 9jd to 10Jd; fine long wools, from coarse hoggets, 9}d to 12d. No lambs’ wool was offered, it being too early in the season. There was an exceptionally keen demand for pieces of all kinds. Super, fine long wool pieces brought up to 14$d; good average cross-bred pieces from 9d to Hid. The later bidding was more spirited. A line of Southdown crossbred made 15d, and a line of Southdown 16d.
