TYPHOID AT MASTERTOK CANS STANDING IN POLLUTED STREAM [Pee United Press Association.] MASTERTON, November 16. In connection with an outbreak of typhoid locally, it was stated at the Borough Council’s meeting to-night that the source of infection had been traced to a local dairy farm outside the borough, which is subject to inspection by the Agricultural Department, _ It was found that cans containing milk from which the infection '■ believed to have originated had been standing in a stream, fed by the effluent of a septic tank, while the adjacent piggery also had a soakage access to the stream. The supply was immediately _ suspended, and will remain so until the department is satisfied that the conditions of the farm have been materially improved. So far only one positive case has been diagnosed, but four others are under observation. All the patients were supplied with milk from the same farm.
