OTAG9 CENTRE MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. last night, Mr E. L. Macassey presiding. The hon. secretary of the Dunedin Ladies’ Amateur Athletic Association wrote asking for a donation to the funds of her association. ' She added that its membership was small, and the committee’s future plans were somewhat hampered by lack of funds. —It was decided to donate £3 3s. The Secretary of the Canterbury Centre wrote acknowledging receipt of the Otago Centro’s amendments in the draft of New Zealand A.A.A, rules, with most of which his centre was heartily in agreement.—Received. Mr K. Haggitt wrote regretting his inability to accept the position' of .-unlocal officer for Central Otago owing to pressure of business.—Mr Frank Perkins, of Omakau, was appointed to act in Mr Haggitt’s stead. The Secretary of the West (oast (North Island) Centre wrote in regard to the difference that had arisen between the president of the New Zealand Council (Mr M'Villy) and one at its delegates (Mr F. Wilton), and Mr M'Villy’s motion that Mr Wilton bo suspended. The position createa had become rather serious, and should really be considered by the centres, as such drastic action was capable of farreaching if ratified. He asked for other centres’ co-operation in having the matter deferred until such times as the whole of the evidence was placed bqfore them or a special committee set up to deal with it. The Chairman reported that the meeting had been held, the secretary being instructed to write to the West Coast Centre stating that the letter had been received too late for any action to he taken. Minutes were received of the monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand A.A.A., held on November 5. It had been decided to suspend Mr F. Wilton, and to call a special meeting, in accordance with the rules, to deal with the motion. It had been decided to cable to Mr C. G. Krogress (the council’s _ representative in_ America) asking him for some definite advice about the American tour before the date of the annual meeting of the council. It was decided to accede to the request of the Wellington Centre to permit it to 1 invite Lamb to tour New Zealand subject to the itinerary being approved by Messrs Lusk and Ansted.—Received. ■ The Mount Ida Caledonian Society wrote applying for permission to include amateur events on its sports programme.—Permission granted, subject to the payment of a feo._ It was also decided to get into touch with other bodies with a view to having amateur events included on the programme. Mr R. A. Malone reported that the Anglican Club would hold an evening meeting on December 1, the events to he decided being lOOyds, 600yds, one mile, medley relay handicaps, ladies’ 120yds handicap, and cycling handicap. Applications for reinstatement were received from T. R. Plunkett, J. A.' Royds. and E. Rollstone, of Invercargill, these being referred to the Reinstatement Committee with power to act.
