The north end Druids Dodge, Lily of the Valley, held its usual meeting, A.D. Brq. Campbell presiding over a (rood attendance. Visits were received from D.P. Bro. Macfarlane (official), P.D.P. Bro. Faulds, and P.A. Bro. Smith (Ivanhoe), P..A. Bro. J. Walker (All Nations). A large amount ot correspondence was dealt with, and several items ordered to lie on the table till quarter night. Only two were reported on the sick fund. The G. judges, G. Sec. Bro. Steel and P.D.P. Bro. M'Beath, were in attendance, amd watched the general conduct of business. Considerable discussion took place in reference to entertaining the juveniles to a social evening, the toasts were responded to, some m a humorous manner. Bro. Walker stated his intention to contest the position tor D.P.., No. 1 district. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Bro. Smith for presiding at the piano. Olive Branch Juvenile Lodge held its usual meeting in the George Street School Hall. A.D. Bro. D. Thompson presiding over a good attendance. The adult members present were Sup. Bro. Faulds, Sec. Bro. Watson, MG. Bro. Beid, P.P.G., P.A. Bro. Smith, P.D.P. Bro. H. Brockic, P.A. Bro. Winter, and Bro. Doig. An official visit was received from D.P. Bro. Mactarlaam, who received a hearty welcome. 1* oot*. candidates wen* received into the order, and a number proposed. It was decided to present Bro. Winter, jun., with a medal for getting tho highest number of candidates up to date. Iveen interest is being taken by members in securing recruits. It was intimated that the next meeting would start at 7 o’clock, amd a free concert by a company of performers would take place. D.P. Bro. Macfarlane commended the officers for the efficient manner in which they had carried out their duties. A series of competitions for valuable prizes would take place next month, and the Lily of the Valley Lodge entertains the juveniles to a social evening. Lodge Ivanhoe held a children’s night in the hall. Stuart street, A.D. Bro. Faulds presiding. Business was started early, and details gone into for the purpose of entertaining members and their children numbering 250 (not including the officers). The evening was opened by a short address by V.A. Bro. Sinclair, afterwards by P.D.P. Bro. Faulds. A lesgthy programme was gone through, musical items being rendered by members of the order and lady friends. Afterwards various competitions were held for the children, resulting Singing, girls— Miss M. Walker 1, L. Gordon 2. Skipping—Miss Ross 1, Miss Williams 2. Recitations, boys—H. Graham 1, Bro. H. Brockie 2. Quoits —W. Stewart 1, Jas. Walker 2. A guessing competition for adults took place, and Mrs Ashwell was declared the winner. Refreshments were hamded round afterwards." each child receiving a present, with ico cream and a bag of sweets. An exhibition of fancy dancing was given by the young 'ladies.
