STATERIEHT BY MR COOK PREPARED TO NEGOTIATE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyrigat. LONDON, October 21. Mr Cook, interviewed at Nottingham, said the miners were prepared to meet anybody who was authorised to discuss or negotiate an honorable settlement. The Leicestershire _ miners leaders, after a conference with Mr Cook and Mr Smith, agreed to uphold the federation’s policy, and urge tho breakaways to leave the pits.
