SEVENELY INJURED. While riding at the Show yesterday, George Coop, of Gisborne, was .seriously injured. His mount failed to rise at a hencoop, with the result that it crashed into the obstacle, the rider sustaining an ugly fall. He was .sent. In the hospital at Napier.—Hastings Press Association telegram. A FRACTURED SKULL. W. B. Fox (fifty), married, of Papal mi, was admitted to the hospital last evening, sullen ng from a fractured skull through being knocked down by a lliccarton tramcar. Ho is now dangerously ill.—Christchurch Press Association telegram. A VERDICT OF SUICIDE. A verdict of suicide by hanging was returned at the inquest on Walter John Barton, a midlo-agcd married man, and proprietor of Barton’s Boot Factory. The manager of the factory found Barton’s body on the floor of the garage. Between his legs was a benzine case. A double piece of twine was drawn tightly round his neck, and a similar piece was hanging from a rafter directly over the man’s body. A doctor stated that death had occurred from ceven to ten days. Deceased was declared a bankrupt twelve months ago, and was in financial difficulties.—Auckland Press Association telegram.
