[From Our Cobhespokdekt.] Recognising the inadequate accommodation at tho Swimming Clubs pavilion owing la the ever-increasing number of bathers, the committee has had tho matter of additions to tho present building under consideration lor somo time now. it has been decided to add two ’f(sbms similar to tho ones already in use, thus providing separate accommodation for the ladies, the girls, tho men, and tho hoys. A start has boon made with the work, which is expected to be finished well in advance of tho opening day. Tho enterprise on the part of the committee in providing the increased facilities for those who frequent tho pavilion lor the purpose of enjoying “a dip in the briny” will no doubt bo much appreciated by them. Much enthusiasm is being evinced by the local school children in tho forthcoming schools’ sports tournament, which takes place on the Carisbvook Ground at the beginning of next

month. Quito a number of tho pupils, under I,lie guidance of Air G. Ferguson, a, member of the school committee, arc in training. There was a good attendance at the pictures on Wednesday evening, when an instructive and interesting programme was again screened. File and scenes in Belgrade and the Australian Gazette were of an educational character, while ihe film entitled ‘ Call a Cop’ provided the comic side. The dramatic touch was featured in the star film, entitled ‘The Lucky Devil.’ An enthusiastic meeting in connection with the proposed queen carnival was held in the hall on Monday evening, Mr Gibson (chairman of the RateAssociation) being in the chair. In addition to members of tho Association Committee, delegates from each of the various organisations in the district wore present, ft was resolved that tho previous resolution with regard to tho allocation of the funds raised he adhered to. It was resolved that three queens bo entered in tlio competition as representing the three subdivisions in tho district. The districts were defined as follows: —Colinswood, from the right-hand side of District road south; Wharfdale, from tho left-hand side of District road to the ■school boundary; and Macandrews, from the school north. It was decided that the Ratepayers’ Association ho the general executive body, and that Air T. G. Brickell be the treasurer for .the fund. It was decided that a public meeting of residents in the three districts be held on tho first Monday in November for tho purpose of setting up their respective committees and then organising for tho carnival, which would commence at the beginning of the year. It was decided that at the conclusion of tho carnival tho delegates from the different clubs, together with a delegate from each of the queen committees meet and go into the matter ol tho allocation of tho funds to the various clubs concerned.
