MONTHLY MEETING Tho monthly meeting of the Ofhgp Education Board was resumed yesterday, Mr J, Wallace (chairman) presiding over a full attendance ot members. RESIGNATIONS. The following resignations were accepted ;—W. G. Burns, head master, Tapanui; James Waddell, head master, East Taicrf; Cora A. M'Lcan, sole teacher, Glenorc; Grace M. Connor, sole teacher, liilderthorpc; 11 ohert Armstrong, sole teacher, Karitane; Clive P. Alien, solo teacher, Kuri Bush; Alexander Bringans. third assistant, Arthur Street; Eli*. M. Calder. fourth assistant, Mornington; Roy A. Dickie, fifth assistant, Macandrow Road. APPOINTMENTS. The following appointments were made;—Leslie Brown, head master, Otakou; Alice Rogers, sole teacher, Momonaj John K. Calder, first assistant, RavenshoniHie; Janet 0. Kidd, assistant (infairf), Kakanui; James_ J. Buchan, second assistant, Tokomainro D.H. CHANGING OF TEACHERS. Tho Owaka Committee wrote stating that in its opinion the present system whereby teachers were allowed to change from one school to another during the school terms was not in the best interests of the pupils. Tho committee was of opinion that changes in staffing should be made at the beginning of the school year. . The Hon. D. T. Fleming said the department was working on a new system now. The Chairman said he hoped it would ho better than the department s system for training teachers. It was decided that the_ hoard express sympathy with tho opinion of the Owaka Committee and forward a copy of it to the department.
