A remarkable increase the production on the dairy farms in Central Taranaki is shown by the pay-out of the Eltham Dairy Company this month compared with September of last year. Paying Is 2d per lb for butter-fat and for cheese Is Id, the total for butter paid out was £11,700, compared with £11,105 for the corresponding period last year, when Is 3d was paid for both 'cheese and butter.

The fortnightly meeting of Court Pride of the Leith, A.0.F., was held on AVednescday last, when a largo attendance of members greeted the O.R. (Bro. C. S. Hawes). The arrangements were completed for the visit to Court Pride of AVaitaki, at Kurow, on Saturday next. Some 25 members of the court agreed to make the trip. The toast of the visitors was responded to by P.C.R. Bro. AY. Himniel, on behalf of Court Enterprise. A special feature of the meeting was the fine attendance of the older members, who were warmly welcomed by the C.R. and younger members. Addresses were given by P.D.C.R. Bro. John Robertson, P.C.R. Bro. J. W. M‘lntyrc, and Bro. C. Smith, all of whom have a membership extending over fifty years, and several other older members, with membership reaching to forty years, also spoke. All the speakers heartily congratulated the court on its continued fine progress. During the meeting five new members were admitted and one member accepted by clearance. Following the dose of the meeting a progressive euchre tournament was held, and the prizes were won by P.C.R. Bro. J. M'Comiell, P.C.R. Bro. A. Honeyman, and last prize of all was won by P.C.R. Bro. ! FT. C. J. T. Bennett. A successful meeting concluded with supper. A Press Association message from Wellington reports that the election of officers of the executive of the Employers’ Federation remains the same, except that Mr F. W. Hobbs replaces Mr Ollivier for Canterbury, and Mr C. W. Wood replaces Mr May, representing the smaller associations. The Abbotsford Methodist Church held its anniversary concert in the church last evening. Jho Rev. Wills was in the chair, and ultimately brought to a close a good two hours’ programme with the National Anthem. Mr Richards, of Mornmgton, gave a short address on ‘ The Virtues of Laughter.’ Mr J. Milden made his annual report, winch .showed the church to he in a very satisfacloiy and prosperous state under the Rev. Wills’s control, Mr Wilis has accepted

an invitation to stay in the circuit for a further term. A vote of thanks to the performers, the accompanist (Mrs Smyth), and the chairman was carried. The John APGlashan College Board of Governors at a meeting expressed regret at the unfortunate accident Mr Robinson had sustained in the football match against Hawke’s Bay. Air Gilray (the principal) reported he had been fortunate fn securing the services of Air A. William to carry on Air Robinson’s work till the latter was fit to resume duty. Air Gilray also reported that, owing to the generosity of friends of the college, he was able to offer five secondary school entrance scholarships for day boys of the value of £lO per annum for four years The total postal revenue for the third quarter of this year (omitting shillings and pence) was £370,169. Tor the corresponding quarter last year it was £353,688. The total telegraphic revenue for the similar quarters was £408,559 and £375,360 respectively.
