CANTONESE ACTIVE FOREIGNERS IN WUCHANG IN DANGER Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright. PEKING, September 10. (Received September 11, at 11 a.m.) Two American destroyers were subjected to machine gnn and ril’e fire on their arrival at Hankow. 'Two men wore wounded. Every foreign vessel entering or leaving Hankow is a target for southern bullets. ■ Several were riddled, and a number of Chinese passengers were killed or wounded. Wnchang, a walled city, is again the object of attention by the Southerners as the result of resistance by isolated Northerners. An ultimatum was issued, stating that, failing surrender, a bombardment would begin within twentyfour hours. The foreign missionaries and merchants within the city are endangered. Numerous executions have taken plate of smugglers of bombs into Wuchang disguised a/s Rod Cross men. The Cantonese have not entered Hankow Foreign Concession, but 1)0,000 are in the native city. Tile Northern allies, under Wu Peifu and Sun Chuan-lang. are closing in for an attack on Hankow from the west and north fronts.
