INTERPROVINCIAL FOOTBALL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In reading the remarks of Mr S. F. Wilson at a meeting of the Oi.R.F.U. in last night’s ‘Star,’ I think ho has struck a note of which all Rugby footballers should bo proud. Hawke’s Bay are more than an ordinary provincial team; they are undoubtedly the greatest representative team New Zealand has ever seen. Such is the gist of his remarks. They won the shield as practically a third grade province, and in endeavoring to hold it they have built themselves up to more than a first grade province, Pbereforo instead of envying them their proud distinction wo should one and all raiso our hats to the premier province Rugby team and finest in tiic history of Now Zealand Rugby. No team is infallible; but nominate a selector to pick a team to beat them, and 1 will give him all the provinces, barring the Bay.—l am, etc., Anzac. September 9.
