TOWN IN A TRANCE
'A JOKE BY FAKIRS. LONDON, August 6. Two fakirs at Garlasco (Lombardy) demonstrated how .coma could be produced by pressing the glands of the neck and the temple, says a message from Rome. A spectator successfully imitated them, and told his friends how it was done. As a result, half the population sent themselves into trances in the marketplace, necessitating police intervention.
