EMPIRE TRADE
THE DOMINIONS' SUPPORT RESTORING BRITAIN'S SUPREMACY. Press Association —By Telegraph—UopyngUt. LONDON, August 12. Tho substantial increase in exports from the Mother Country taken by tho Empire in thirteen years—namely, from 37.2 per cent, in 1913 to 45 per cent, in 192 G—was mentioned by Mr Allred W. Elnx (assistant secretary of the statistical department of the Board or Trade) at tho concluding sitting of the British Association. _ Tho apparent conclusion, ho said, was that tho restoration of the world s trade to its former dimensions and its capacity for extension would do more to re-establish the British export trade and its dependent industries than the struggle to secure for Britain trade which had been carried on by some other nation, notwithstanding tho importance of maintaining our competitive capacity.—Router.
