INSURANCE OF PURCHASES BRITISH DEMAND RESENTED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, PARIS, August 12. The ‘Petit Parisian’ states that the Chamber of Commerce at Tourcoing has requested the Government to intervene diplomatically against the action of British inns in conducting credit operations with tho French wool importers. It is stated that it was demanded of the importers that tho goods should henceforth bo insured against maritime risks, in sterling with British companies. Tho chamber complains that compliance with this demand would ruin tho French maritime insurance companies.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
