LICENSING BILL
UNDER CABINET OVERHAUL [From Our Parliamentary Reporter] WELLINGTON, August 11. An inquiry by Mr Potter (.Roskill), by way of an urgent question in the House to-day, tailed to produce any fresh information from the Prime Minister regarding the proposed Licensing Bill. Mr Coates’s answer, delivered with a smile, which soon communicated itself to members, was this: “I would like to inform the hen. gentleman that the Licensing Bill is before Cabinet' at the moment, and is receiving earnest consideration. The Bill is drafted, and it will he possibly amended before it comes before the House, and when it. docs I hope it will he acceptable without discussion to all sides of the House.” (Laughter.)
