Tho State Government has refused to allow vSir John Alonash, who is chairman of the State Electricity Commission, to act as a Royal Commission to. investigate the management of the British Phosphate Commission, and Sir Arthur Robinson has boon appointed instead.
[Mr Bruce recently announced that tho Federal Government intended appointing a Royal Commission to inquire into the working of the British Phosphates Commission at Nauru. Pending tlie investigation, die added, tho Commonwealth had asked the New Zealand and Imperial Governments not to take any further action regarding tho removal of the office to New Zealand.]
