LORD STEVENSON. Press Association—.By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 10. The death is announced of Lord Stevenson of Holmbury.—A. and N .L, Cable. [Lord Stevenson was fifty-three years of ago. He was chairman of _ the Standing Committee of the British Empire Exhibition, and it was for tho work that he performed in this office that he was awarded a peerage. He was managing director of Messrs John Walker and Sons, distillers, Kilmarnock. During the war ho held various offices at the Ministry of Munitions, being knighted in 1917 for these services. He was tho originator of what is known as the Stevenson scheme for the marketing of rubber.] HAWAIIAN EX-PRESIDENT. HONOLULU, June 9. Tho death is announced of Mr Sanford Dole, President of Hawaii at the time of its annexation by the United States.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
