THE HIGHLANDERS' LAND
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l and many other Dunedinites are rather surprised to hear of the way in which the Exhibition directors or other persons who may be responsible are sending the band of the 93rd Highlanders to Canada. Being in conversation with some of tho members of that famous baud, I find that they are travelling to Canada on the Aorangi, steerage. They could quite understand travelling steerage on their outward trip, as the Rotorua only contained two classes—saloon and steerage—but why should they be compelled to travel steerage on the Aorangi, which accomodates three classes? I also understand that tho whole of the proceeds of their tour through New Zealand and Canada conies back to tho Exhibition Company. Ido not think that this is a fitting finale to what would otherwise have been a successful tour.—l am, etc., Querulous. April 21. ________
