DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. There have been good inquiries for insurance shares this week. Amongst other stocks that have firmed are Bank of New Zealand, New Zealand Insurance, South British, and Standard, also Dominion Rubbers, which hai? sales up to 5s 6d, and ‘ Otago Daily Times ’ buyers offering 81s. Amongst those that have eased are P. and 0. Deferred Stock, which had a buyer at £220, and New Zealand Refrigerating Company, which have had a drop since last week. New Zealand Breweries have also cased slightly. Westport Coals had buyers at i&s lid and sellers at 34s 3d, but the margin was too great for any business to eventuate. Kaiapoi Woollens were inquired for at 10s, but sellers would not come below 10s Gd. Alosgiel Woollens stay around £6. New Zealand Express (ord.) bad buyers at 22s Gd, while the best inquiry for preference shares was 17s 3d. Malay Rubbers had inquiries at 435, but the sellers remained 4s above this quote. In tho mining section, there has been disappointment over tho failure to strike the lead in the St. Balkans Aline. Kawarans are still at 6s.
