NORTHERN "SOCCER" CLUB

ANNUAL REPORT The annual report of the Management Committee of the Northern Association Football Club states that the membership was above last year, and the play of the club’s six elevens showed abundant talent among the youngo members. This also looked well fo> the continued success of the chib. Harmony and sociability were the keynotes to this success, and these, aa usual, were features in the club's progress last year Thesr to a considerable extent enabled the first eleven to once more record northern's name on the Senior Grade Cup. When last it was put on was 1919. Of the first eleven players that took part in- the success of 1925 season, three players (Captain J. Dryden, T. Jluddimau, R. Cherry! helped the club to -success in 1919 The committee congratulates the club on it;- further success last season in winning the Chinese Charily Cup on the first occasion this trophy has been competed for. The first cloven failed to retain the Knock-out Cup won the previous season, being beaten in the first round by their old rivals, Monungton Club, ScaclilT proving the ultimate winners, and the club congratulates SeaclifT on winning this trophy. The committee congratulates those members of the second eleven (A. Hindi, W. Faithful, S Coates), who, in the most important matches towards the dose of the senior competition and Chinese Cup final, rendered yeoman service. The second eleven did well but suffered by the first team’s cal l at the close of the season. The two third grade and two fourth grade teams performed as well as expected by tbo selectors.

The opportunity is taken to congratulate G. Jones and A. M'Tavish on their selection by tho O.F.A. for interprovincial honors. Tho club was also represented in interprovincial matches on several occasions last season by J. Drydcn and J. Scoular, whose consistency throughout the season, had so much to do in tho first eleven's success.

It is the club’s intention in tho coming season to award medals and trophies to junior players for improvement in play »nd consistency in training.

Despite heavy expenditure in the past season there is a small credit balance.
