MONDAY, OCTOBER 5. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. \ first offender lor drunkenness was fined 10b, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment.—Another first offendin', who did not appear, was fined the amount of his bail (20s), with similar alternative. REMANDED. Hugh Goodlet, charged with breaking and entering the premises of Sheeby Bros, at Waitahuna, and stealing therefrom 12s in money, was remanded to appear at Lawrence on Friday next.— Accused intimated that ho did not wish to apply for bail. MAINTENANCE. Edward Fleming, for failure to maintain his wife (ho was reported to bo £27 8s iu arrears), was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, tho warrant to bo suspended provided £lO was paid forthwith. AFFILIATION ORDER.

Lengthy evidence was heard in a claim made to have Henry Burns, of Otakou, adjudged the father of a female child. Mr A. 0. Hanlon appeared for complainant and Mr T. O’Shea for the defendant.
