A TRAIN DERAILED
PASSENGERS' NARROW ESCAPE [Pee United Peess Association.] AUCKLAND, October 5. The Taupo-Totara Timber Company’s (ruin was rounding a curve when it ran into a mob of horses. Three empty wagons wore derailed and completely smashed. A break of the coupling probably saved the loss of life. When the train stopped the engine was across the Kopokralu Bridge, brtt a passenger van was overhanging with a drop of 40ft to the watercourse below. The side of the van bad to bo broken in to dxtricatc the passengers, including seven women. All were sobering from shock.
