OCTAGON Beho Daniels is the star in ‘Aliss Bluebeard,’ the principal picture at the Octagon Theatre. ‘Miss Bluebeard’ is a story of Colette Girard, French actress, who goes to London. En route she meets a young fellow’ who poses as Larry Charters, prominent composer. The pair are stranded in a small town railroad station, and go to tlie mayor’s house ns the only place of shelter in the little hamlet. The mayor mistakes them for a young couple he is expecting, and marries them. Tho story develops rapidly to a surprising climax. The official film of the All 81/icks’ 1925 tour is also shown, and enjoyable musical numbers are played by the Octagon Concert Orchestra. ■ EMPIRE ‘Aladonna of the Streets is the current attraction at the Empire Theatre. The leading roles are taken by Nazimova and Milton Sills. The story contains a colorful romance, and is one of the most fascinating pictures of the w'orld’s most famous Chinatown that the screen has ever held. Also showing is the arrival of the U.S.S. Alelville and fourteen destroyers at Dunedin. The Empire Orchestra, a fine combination of players, supplies suitable music. EVERYBODY’S AND KING EDWARD ‘ Fifth Avenue Alodels ’ is the main item at Everybody’s and the King Edward Theatres. The picture is a romance-‘drama dealing w'ith the experiences of a little seamstress who misjudges the attentions of a rich young man who first sees her when she is forced against her desires to become a mannequin. A second picture at Everybody’s is ‘ Scarred Hands.’ QUEEN'S The excellent programme at the Queen’s Theatre contains a "Western drama and a mystery picture. The chief feature is ‘ Galloping Gallagher,’ in which Fred Thomson is featured. Tiffs is a fast-moving picture of the outdoors. ‘Champion of Lost Causes,’ Edmund Lowe’s latest starring vehicle, is a typical Alax Brand story, full of tense and thrilling situations and rapid action. PLAZA AND GRANS 1 Women Who Give ’ features Frank Keenan and Rene Adoree, and is drawing good audiences to the Plaza and Grand Theatres. It is a dramatic story woven around the fishing fleets of the New England coast of the United States. It tells graphically of the hardships of the sailors, of their jierils and work, and of tlie suffering of the women who wait till tho ships come home. Another film is ‘ The Heart Bandit.’
