A STRING OF PEARLS
LOST DOWN WASTE PIPE DISCOVERY BY WORKMEN. PARIS. August in. A strange discovery has been made by workmen in a waterpipe in a Paris hotel. A string of valuable pearls belonging to Miss Biddy Tallis, daughter of Sir George Tallis, was lost seven months ago, and was unsuccessfully sought then. It is now thought it was placed on a ledge and swept down the waste pipe, bliss Tallis is at present in Australia. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
