A THIEF'S WIT
WELL-DRESSED BANDIT. SAN FRANCISCO, July 30. The amazing wit of a. well-dressed armed bandit saved him from the police after having been captured. At noon ho started by holding up a garage man. Then ho robbed a man on a street corner and two workmen a block away, securing ],ooodol and jewels. The last pair knocked tho robber down and took away his gun, but the gathering crowd mistook which man was the robber, and lie was released. When the mistake was explained the workmen opened fire on the bandit with his own gun, but ho got away with the booty.
