Two naval destroyers, tlio William Jones and the M'Caulcy, will be assigned to guard the proposed aeroplane flight from San Francisco to Hawaii, which is now scheduled to start on October 20. Complete radio compass and radio communication tests between the planes and the destroyers will be worked out prior to the start. The destroyers will later take a position in the Pacific for rendering any possible assistance to the flyers.—A. and' N.Z. Cable. [The Navy Department announced in June that a naval airplane flight would be made from the .Pacific Coast to Hawaii. Captain Stanford Moses, commander of the aircraft srpiadron battle fleet, would command the flight route, which would be patrolled by ten vessels. The battleship Arizona, "the aircraft carrier Langley, and the aircraft tender Areestook would bo stationed GOO miles apart between the mainland and the islands for the purpose of gathering weather observations. Six destroyers would be scattered at 200-mile intervals in the gaps between the station ships. Two mine sweepers would patrol the route.]
