A POET'S DIET
Raw carrot holds an honored place inevery schoolboy's dietary, but we do not, as a rule, cling to it in after years, The uncooked carrot, however, is a diet eccentricity of Mr A. E. Coppard, a young poet 'who has recently come to the front as a writer of short stories (says the ‘ Daily Chronicle ’). He also has a preference for cabbage, similarly served. He lives in a gamekeeper's hut in the heart of the Thames-side woods, hut is able to provide less Spartan faro for Ids friends who look him up.
