DIVORCE DAMAGES
CO-RESPOKDEHT’S BANKRUPTCY [Per United Press Association - ,] WELLINGTON, July 27. George Vance Shannon Shepherd, Tawata. applied to the Supremo Court for discharge from bankruptcy. There was only one creditor, Mattion Sarcich, who had obtained £1,500 damages from bankrupt as co-respondent in a divorce case The Official Assignee, in a statement, set out that prior to the divorce bankrupt was solvent, but immediately damages were awarded be appeared to have got rid of all his assets, and to have spent his cash recklessly. He was of opinion that bankrupt should be compelled to make some effort to comply with the judgment. The motion was stood down to enable counsel to ascertain whether the debtor would consent to judgment being entered against him for £250,
