OPERATIC SOCIETY
The committee of the Exhibition Operatic Society met yesterday afternoon, Mr J. If- M alher being in Uio chair. Mcsdiimcs Leslie Mills, H. L. Taploy, R. Hudson, J. E. Macassey, A. Barnett, and Oldham, and Messrs F. H. Lampen, tt. Hudson, .1. D- Hunter, T. Ritchie, G. A. Wycherley ,aud Scott Colville also attended. Mr Colville reported on the result of the sub-committee's deliberations concerning the choice of works for production, and it was decided to endorse this committee’s recommendation that ‘ The Gay Parisienne ’ bo the musical comedy to bo staged in February. The choice of the second production, which will probably be light opera, was left over in the meantime.
Mr John Leech was appointed deputy-conductor and stage manager. The question of the appointment of a producer was left over pending a reply being received to certain inquiries now being made by Mr Colville.
It was decided to arrange for voice and other tests at an early date.
