(Received July 24, at 11.15 a.m.)
A case of suspected murder has been revealed at Fremartlo, when -a sack containing the body of a stylishlydressed young woman was found floating in the harbor by two fishermen, who reported their find to the police. The body was found inside two sacks tied with rope. It was fully dressed, and was that of a young woman seemingly about twenty-five years of ago, with dark brown bobbed hair. The remains were in an advanced state of decomposition. The face appeared to show traces of a violent blow above the nose, but the post mortem revealed that the brain was uninjured. The doctor said that death was not due to drowning, but it might have been caused by suffocation. By apeparances the girl had possibly been dead for a fortnight.
The police have been advised that Ruby Lee Wood, twenty-one, married, has been missing from her home since July 13, when she left to go to work at her husband’s fruit shop in Subiaco.
The missing woman and her husband lived with her people, but the relations between the husband and the parents were strained. When Mrs Wood failed to return home her parents asked no questions, but later reported the matter to the police. The father will he permitted to see the body to-day. From the description he belcives it to be that of his daughter.
