MONTHLY BOARD MEETING The monthly nmeiitig of the Otago Hospital Board, held last night, was attended by Alc.vms \V. E. S. Knight (chairman), Dove. Scurr, Morgan, Hancock. Larnach. Quelch, Dr New- ■ lands, and Airs Jackson. TENDER ACCEPTED. The tender of tho Dominion Electric ’Company for electric lighting at tho Tapanui Hospital was accepted. DENTAL TREATMENT. Tho Director-General of Health wrote in relation to dental treatment that he desired to point out that his circular letter had been issued to all hospital boards, but in view of tho special arrangement which tho board bad with the University Council the circular hardly applied in the case of tho board, although he was sure it would agree with the principle involved.— Received. HOSPITAL LAUNDRY, The Medical Superintendent reported on the question of the continuation of washing part of tho laundry outside the hospital. Mr Qucich suggested that it was time they had an outside report on the laundry again. The' Chairman said tho machinery and plant were working at full capacity. All- Dove: Absolutely. The matter was referred to the chairman and the secretary for a report. GENERAL. The Chairwoman of tho Ladies’ Benevolent Advisory Committee wrote suggesting that Airs Hiett be appointed a. "member of the committee.—Approved. The Secretary of the Louisa > Roberts Hospital Committee wrote advising the re-election of Mr Alexander APKinnon as chairman of tho committee.—Approved. Miss AL Thomson wrote resigning her position as sister at tho Tuapoka Hospital.—Accepted. The Director-General of Health wrote acknowledging the receipt of the board's finding in the Robertson yasc. Letters from two patients of the Dunedin Hospital were received thanking the board for the kindness they Inid mot with. —These wore noted, Air Hancock remarking that they were very refreshing. The resignation of Miss Hamann of the position of matron at tho Port Chalmers Hospital was accepted. Applications are to be invited to Jill the vaeanev, and the finance Committee is to report thereon.
