MANY MIXED MARRIAGES [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 23. The Dominion Conference of the Protestant Political Association opened today under the presidency of Mr I. ,). Bridgcr, dominion president. " hero was a good attendance of delegates from all parts of New Zealand. the nresidont’s address stated that the association’s activities showed a distinct advance during the year, and assistance had been obtained for the dominion organiser. The balance-sheet disclosed a sound position. The president drew attention to the number of mixed marriages taking place in the dominion, and stressed the necessity of the Protestant churches establishing a Protestant Sunday at least once yearly.
The dominion lecturer gave a comprehensive account of the work of the past year, and the organisers’ reports of work m the several districts were favorably commented upon by the conference.
To-day’s proceedings arc devoted to remits from the various groups, and the officers will also be elected.
