LONDON, July 22. (Received July 23, at 11.10 a.m.)
“ Except, for tho Maternity Hospital at Zurich (Switzerland), which he would like to see copied at Christchurch ami Dunedin, the Continental hospitals do not cmnpa.ro with those in Britain and the dominions for cleanliness, staff discipline, and economy of organisation and administration,” said Dr Valintino (Director-General of Health in Now Zealand), after a visit of investigation. Ho considers that the European and American nurses aro not equal to tho smart British type, which is maintaining throughout tho Empire tho Nightingale traditions in tho highest degree. Dr Valintino added that ho would liko to see Australia encourage that superiority by State registration similar to tho New Zealand system.—Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
