Bray Bros., Dunedin, Ltd., report as follows for the week ended to-day Ciiaff is in 'good supply, and inquiries arc for choice quality only. This is selling at £5 10s per ton, sacks extra, but very little business is passing. Medium quality is difficult to sell. The oat market is keeping steady. It is now stated that the quantity of oats available for New Zealand requirements will he ample, and this information is likely to have a steadying effect on Hie market. There arc no alterations in prices, and farmers are not anxious to sell. The present shipping quotations for oats is round about 4s 6d, f.0.b., s.i., for A's, and 4s 3d for IBs. There is little business passing in the wheat market, and prices are firmer. Farmers are holding for higher prices. It is reported that the quantity will be larger (his season <him was first anticipated, but it is pretty certain importations will have to he made toward the end of the year. The. fowl wheat market continues quiet, anil markets are 'getting supplied from Canterbury. The local demand is quiet. The present quotation for fowl wheat is round about 6s 6d, f.o.b. Timaru, and the Australian market is advancing : the latest quotation was 5s lOd. f.0.b., s.i.; and this is equivalent to round about 8s 3d New Zealand. The Dunedin millers’ prices are as follow:—Flour, £l9 10s; bran, £6; pollard, £7; oatmeal. £27. The potato market is well supplied, and prices arc easy, Consignments are still coining forward. and sales are difficult to 'make at round about £5 per lon, on trucks. A large proportion of the potatoes coming forward are effected with blight. The onion market is also keeping steady, and these are selling round about 11s per cwt. Business In the fruit marts lias been quiet during the week. Large quantities of apples and (tears are reaching the market, and are. offering at low prices. Th supply of tomatoes has eased off, and prices arc advancing. Oranges and bananas are in. short supply, and (trices high. Quinces are now offering. Good cabbages and cauliflower have good inquiry. Swede turnips, carrots, ami parsnips are also in good supply. The egg market is firm; there is good inquiry. Honey is also selling more freely. Cheese also has hot Cor inquiry.
