BLUESKIN SHOW

SPLENDID CATTLE DISPLAY. The Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral Society, now in its fifty-seventh year of existence, successfully held its annua] show at Waitati on Saturday. Fine and warm weather favored the fixture, and in the afternoon there was a large attendance of local people, as well as many who came from Dunedin and other parts in cars. The feature of the show, as was to be expected in a prosperous dairying district, was the excellent showing ol cattle, the quality and condition of which favorably impressed the fudges, breeders, and others who viewed tbera. The entry in all sections of cattle was much in excess of that of last year. In horses, however, both light and draught, there was a falling-off in entries, though those that were shown were well turned yut_ and of a good stamp. Some splendid jumping was seen in the competitive events, which attracted much attention, A number of side shows were well patronised during the afternoon, but several were dosed down by the police, who took exception to some of the games played.
