DISTRICT MEETING AT TAPANUI
TROPHY FOR ENLISTMENTS.
The half-yearly meeting of the M.U.1.0.0.F, Otago District, held at Tapanni on Wednesday, was attended by fiftynine delegates and the five district officers Prov. GAL. B. H. Rosevear; Prov. D.G.M., A. M. Wylie; Prov. C.S., J. A. Hopcraft; Prov. Treasurer, A. Sligo; P.P.G.M., J. A. Robson. Tho Mayor welcomed tho delegates. In regard to membership, the committee resolved that a trophy of the value of £2O, to bo held for six months, be given to the member who proposes most candidates for tho six months ending December.
The scale of contributions for female lodges was confidered Tho seal© adopted, and which will bo submitted for registration, is between that of the actuaries and the present scale of the Queen of OtaKO Lodge. The committee negatived the proposition from Oamaru for admitting females into male lodges whore there is no female lodge within three miles. The levies were fixed—the district benefit fund 3s 6d, management fund Is 6d. It was left to the District Executive to fix the place and date of the next meeting, taking into consideration an application from the Queen of Otago, Kaitangata. Appreciaton to bestowed upon the services rendered by Bros. A. Sligo and A. W. Palmer in hospital visitation, and it was resolved that a sura be voted for tho purpose of providing comforts for friendly society inmates. There was lengthy discussion on the question of juvenile lodges and the attitude of tho executive in reference thereto. A new sot of rules and lodge ritual havo been adopted to ensure uniformity. A sample set of regalia was on view, and those lodges that desire to obtain a set can apply. ,
