At the meeting of the Women’s Christian Temperance Tnion yesterday afternoon attention was drawn to,a ease which enmo before the City Police Court on Saturday morning. An excellent entertainment was provided, items being contributed by Bros. H. .1. Hankinson, J. B. Olipbant, J. A. Haggitt (songs), Bro. H. W. Hunter (recitation), Bro. W. P. Kobib liard (’cello solo), Bro. J. W. Stuart (flute solo), and Bros. H. L. Tapley, J. 11. P. Hamel, and Savage Malcolm, of the Christchurch Savage Club, told humorous stories. Mr Lawson (Auckland) gave an exhibition of card tricks. The orchestra, under tho baton of Bro. 11. Davie, contributed four enjoyable selections. Bro. J. A. Haggitt acted as accompanist for the evening. Six new members were initiated.

The Anderson Bay Glee Club gave Its seventeenth annual concert in the new Sunday School Hall last evening before a crowded attendance. Tho programme ■was of a particularly high order of merit, and the performers’ efforts were much appreciated. Tho following concerted numbers were given:—‘Viking Song,’ ‘The Sea Hath Its Pearls,' ‘ Stars of the Summer Night,’ ‘Break! Break! ’ ‘ Rhapsody cn Welsh Airs,’ ‘ Tho Battle of the Baltic,’ ‘ Sing a Joyous Roundelay,’ ‘ Ca’ the Yowes,’ ‘ Come. Celebrate the May,’ and ‘ King Arthur. Mr Trevor Do Clivo Lowe gave some delightful violoncello soli, and songs were rendered by Mass Alice Wilkinson and Mr L. A. North. Mr 11. B. Ansting was conductor, and Miss F. H. Ayson pianist.
