Be!worthy (district superintended),) read tho objects of the organisation, which are as follow; —To afford holders of certificates from the St. John Ambulance Association opportunities of meeting together for ambulance and nursing practice, with the object of maim tricing their efficiency and combining individual efforts for the public advantage: to render first aid to the sick and injured on public occasions, and to maintain in readiness for such duty a body of trained mem and nurses qualified so to act; 1° enrol a }>ody of civilians to be placed at tiic disposal of the military authorities as a supplement to the regular medical services in eases of necessity: to train men in ambulance transport duties, and fo develop and promo!,e every menus cf rendering aid to the injured.

After further explanation had been made, Air A. (Brighton moved- —“ That those present form then'selves into a unit of Urn St. John Ambulance Brigade.’’ Mr Marlow seconded the motion, whuh was carried unanimously.

The election of officers resulted in Mr !•’. 'Wiseman being appointed superintendent, Mr It- M. Wilkinson bon. secretary and treasurer, and -Mr . bird inspector of stores.

It was decided that the unit meet every alternate Tuesday evening, and the Chairman expressed the hope that those interested in the work of the brigade would aitend in large numbers.
